Home Sweet Home

Exterior Touch-Ups

My birthday present from Ben this year was window shutters for the outside of our house. You know your getting old when you ask for shutters for your birthday. Our house was very plain on the outside, no shutters or landscaping. The benefit of plain is that it’s a blank slate for us to do whatever we want. I knew that I wanted to draw detail to the house and thought shutters would do just the trick. It was easy to pick them out, I knew exactly what I wanted. I prefer the panel style over the louvre shutter. We went with black which is always a classic neutral color that goes well with everything. We ordered ours off of http://www.lowes.com. When they arrived in the mail I couldn’t wait to put them on the house. Good thing my husband is handy because he installed them right away. We are so happy with how they transform our house!

The next item on the list for exterior upgrade was to change out our lights. The ones that came with the house, weren’t bad, but not our style. I love the lantern style, and these were the perfect price point from Lowe’s for $20 a piece. It’s crazy how something so small can make such a difference.

Next up on the “to-do” list in the spring: window boxes, new front door, new storm door, brick the walkway and front stoop, and landscaping!

  1. It is appropriate time to make some plans for the long run and it’s time to be
happy. I’ve read this put up and if I may I
wish to counsel you some interesting things or advice.
Perhaps you could write subsequent articles
referring to this article. I desire to read even more issues
    approximately it!
